How to Measure: Honeycomb/Cellular Shades

  1. Measure only with a tapesteel metal tape measure - do not use a yard stick or cloth tape measure.
  2. Determine whether the shade will be mounted inside or outside of the window frame.
  3. Remember that width is across and length is top to bottom.
Inside Mount

How to measure for an Inside Mount:
(Note: An inside mount fits within the window frame.)
Please provide the EXACT WINDOW OPENING SIZE when ordering. DO NOT TAKE ANY DEDUCTIONS. The factory will deduct approximately 3/8" to 1/2" from the width you designate so your product will not rub against the sides of your window.
Width:
Measure in 3 places (top, middle, and bottom). Use the smallest or shortest of the 3 measurements. We will make any necessary deductions so that the blind does not rub on the window opening. The minimum recess required is 1" clear space.

Height:
Measure the length of the window in 3 places and use the TALLEST measurement.

How to measure for an Outside Mount:
Outside Mount

Measuring for OUTSIDE MOUNT:
Measure the width and length of the area to be covered. The blind should overlap the window opening by a minimum of 2". If there is molding around the window, you may want to be sure to measure from outside edge to outside edge. If you are mounting above the top molding, you may need extension brackets.
